Physiotherapy deals with the injury in front of you: assessment, hands-on manual therapy and a plan to get the area moving again. Exercise physiology uses prescribed exercise to rebuild strength, movement and capacity, usually across a block of sessions, and it is what most people come to us for with long standing injuries and chronic conditions. Plenty of people use both. If you are not sure which one you need, call 1300 309 139 and we will point you to the right one.
Not if you are paying privately. You can book exercise physiology, physiotherapy, personal training or group training yourself. You do need a referral if you want a scheme to pay: for WorkCover or CTP that means a Certificate of Capacity naming exercise physiology or physiotherapy, or a GP letter with the referral attached, and for Medicare it means a care plan from your GP. Send referrals to admin@myogenesis.com.au, fax (02) 9171 6568 or call 1300 309 139, and we will come back to you within 24 hours.
Most appointments run 30 minutes. If there is more going on, several body areas involved or pain that is affecting your sleep and mood, we book 45 to 60 minutes so nothing gets rushed. We talk through your symptoms and history, then assess your range of motion, strength and functional capacity, and build an exercise program from what we find. A physiotherapy first appointment follows the same shape and adds hands-on treatment. You leave with a plan you can explain to someone else: what we are working on, what you do between sessions, and what the next few weeks look like. Wear clothes and shoes you can move in, and bring your referral, Certificate of Capacity or care plan if you have one.
Yes to both. We see WorkCover NSW clients and bill the scheme, so there is nothing for you to pay on the day. If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident and have a CTP claim, we bill the claim directly.
To get started with either, send us a Certificate of Capacity naming exercise physiology or physiotherapy, or a GP letter with the referral attached. We respond within 24 hours.
Yes to both. If your NDIS plan is self managed or plan managed, you can book with us directly and we invoice you or your plan manager. If your plan is NDIA managed, we can still see you: those sessions run through a subcontracting arrangement with another provider while our own registration is pending, so tell us when you call and we will set it up. For DVA, we bill the department once we have a current referral from your GP naming exercise physiology or physiotherapy.
Yes, if your extras cover exercise physiology or physiotherapy. We have a HICAPS terminal at Liverpool and a mobile terminal at our other sites, so you can claim on the spot and pay only the gap. How much comes back depends on your level of cover, so check the rebate with your fund before your first visit.
Yes. Ask your GP about a chronic condition management plan: if you are eligible, the plan names exercise physiology or physiotherapy and covers up to five allied health visits each calendar year. We bulk bill those visits, so there is nothing to pay on the day. Bring the plan and referral to your first appointment so we can bill it correctly.
We see clients at our clinics across south west Sydney, and we also come to you. Our mobile service runs at your home, your local gym or a park, and telehealth is available separately.
Call 1300 309 139 and we will book you into the site that suits you, or come to you. How our mobile service works.
Yes, and you do not have to start at the clinic. Sessions can run at your home, at your local gym or at a park, whichever suits your goals and how far you can travel. Some programs work better in a gym because of the equipment, and some work better at home because that is where you will actually do them. We agree the setting at your first appointment and change it if it stops working for you. How our mobile service works.
Yes, as part of exercise physiology rather than as a separate service. Sessions run by video and you get a written program to follow, with regular check-ins so we can adjust load, technique and pace. It suits people outside our areas, people who travel for work, and people who cannot easily get to a clinic. Nothing else changes: assessment first, then a program, then reviews on the same schedule.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to move or cancel an appointment. If you cancel inside 24 hours or do not attend, the full consultation fee is charged. Call 1300 309 139 or email admin@myogenesis.com.au as soon as you know, and we will find you another time.
Yes. Sessions can run at your home, your local gym or a park, anywhere across Western and South West Sydney. You do not need to start at a clinic, and we agree the setting with you.
Call us and we will talk it through, no obligation.
